Famous european cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants

some very famous cities are very small, they are mostly touristic destinations,

for example: I bet all of you have heard of Dubrovnik, and it has got only 43,770 people living there (census 2001.)

-Billund, Denmark: ca. 8,700 inhabitants (headquaters of toy manufacturer LEGO, original Legoland)
-Vatican City: 805 people
-Cuxhaven, Germany: 52,435 people (a pretty big German harbor city)

I knew "true" Venice (only the historical part of it on the lagoon, not the part of its Municipality on dry land or at Lido) has just 60.000 inhabitants... less than in 15th century

60.000 is the number during the night (without tourists staying in Venice hotels)
But during the day population overcomes 150.000 (ok: commuters as in any other important city in the world, even if many of them are tourists)

Oxford's just over, with 142,364, but I'm not sure if in the summer that goes down 20k or so. Cambridge has 114,797, but less student population, it's just under 100k. I think the town of Windsor by itself is also smaller than 100k, but then I guess the City of London is too!

Delft has less than 100k inhabitants and even President Clinton decided to visit it during a visit to the Netherlands. I bet everybody knows Delft's Blue porcelain.
