I actually liked the circular hole. I would have never thought about a circle resembling the Japanese flag on my own. What petty nationalism!

470m high for the obs deck.. not bad!!! It is higher than anything else around.. for now.. I think I remember Taipei had the lower obs deck at the 380m mark. Even if they open the 100-101th floor in T101, I really dont think that even that deck would be as high as 470m!!

Those renderings of the base are abyssmal. Lui jia zui is already full of massive erections with absolutely no life at ground level. They should all be forced to build out to the edge of the block and have all of the ground floor open out towards the street. Pudong is going to be a city centre that can only be enjoyed at a distance...

well at least the building has a rectangle is better then some other shapes
 other then a circle that is ........other reasons for the change could also be that this tower should it have a circular hole looks too much like the Kingdom Centre in Saudi Arabia @CULWULLA did you use Microsoft powerpoint to draw those ?

The design change is reported by Hong Kong TVB News today... pretty much the same deal... Japanese developer aware of sensibility... 101 floors... blah...

it's said the main building completed 8 stories' steel structure by far. The struction company planned to finish 26 sotries this year.

I wonder why they've taken one off the cranes down that they only erected about three weeks ago... they seemed all set to rise with the core, although clearaance did seem a bit tight.

Jesus! People ! The rectangular design is just a RUMOUR! Someone just Photoshopped them to divert the attention of Shanghai lovers!! There nothing to be fear about! The Circle design will be surpasssed henceforth!
