Apparently Parken is still involved with the small multiarena project on østerbro. Acording to Cultural Mayor Martin Geertsen the talks are progressing and they hope to have a finiched project, to present to the citycouncil, sometime before the summer brake. The estimated price for the 5000 seat multiarene wich will host handball, icehockey, and indoor athletics aswell as fitness center and some offices, is expected to be at around 150 million DKK (20 million euros) The city is expected to pay 7.5 million euros and PS&E around 12.5 million euros.
The will hopefully have no effect on the planed multiarena in Ørestaden. Since this thread is turning into more of a news thread, perhaps we should get someone to move it to the skybar?

DBU and PARKEN has now officially applied to host the 2009 UEFA cup final. UEFA wanted DBU to apply for the final in 2008, but because of renovation they could not.
DBU is also considdering applying to host the U21 euro cup in 2009...

Well, as you may have heard, Parken has now been given the go ahead to build a small multiarena next to Parken, at the current location of Østerbro Skøjtehal.
Also included in the deal is the demolition and re-building of he current coca cola stand, the old stand from the 1950'ies. The renovation will start in November 2007 and is expected to last untill March/April 2009... Also included is a small renovation of the old Østerbro Stadion, to make it useble for football again...This will happen in time for the 2009 world out games.

I think the next project in Denmark has got to be either FC Midtjylland who regulaly sells 85-100% of their seats or AGF, asuming their numbers last and they return to the superleague...

/\ Both Horsens and Vejle are building as we speak.
@ cphdude: FCM "only" has an average of 75 % of the full capacity (8.954 out of 11.809), and I doubt there will be an expansion before every game is sold out. It's still amazing though, considdering that FCM had an average of just 3.549 in the 00/01 season, which was the first in the SAS League. ![]() @ NorthStar77: Doesn't the stadium look a lot like the one in Molde? From the inside atleast.

Ah, I didnt know that they had already started. But I ment after the once already planed, or heard about. But they are further ahead then I imagened,
Quote:
But I think Messecenter Herning is always looking for a new way to further their business, and FCM needs something to spend their new money on. And this is not the first time they have talked about this... So I believe it is going to happen. But as I said, in adition to those already planed....

Finland and Sweden r far behind when it comes to stadiums in Norway... DK has some pretty nice ones too but Norway takes the cake. Parken is still the coolest though and Finnair Stadium in Helsinki has the coolest design. The Veritas Stadium in Turku has heated seats which is pretty nice!
It's pretty small though, only 10,000 but there are expansion plans and it'll probably grow to be quite big 20-30,000. ![]()

We don't have any really big stadiums though, and the turf on Ullevål is usually in bad condition.
