agree with you. Think alot of people aren't happy anymore about Parken being the national arena.

THAT is funny! Reducing the capasity with a much uglier stand.. Way to go Denmark Why not shorten all buildings in Copenhagen with a floor while you`re at it ?

The VIP capacity will be increaced a lot. And those new aprox. 60 boxes will create an income around 20 times bigger than the 4000 seats which is only being used a few times a year. And the new stand looks way better than the ugly Coca Cola stand today.

How can it be stupid? I`m just making a point that this is backwards thinking. If they want more VIP-boxes they should try to find another soluthion. Not reduce the capasity. Maybe you think this is a good thing and disagree with me, but to say I had a stupid comment, well thats just.. stupid!

How can this

look better than this..?

The old Cola stand looks alot more elegant, more impressive/capasity, and most importantly better atmosphere.

The new stand looks more like the one you see at horse-racing, or

...Polo

/\ I'm not too crazy about the new stand either, but you need to understand that something needed to be done with the old Coca Cola stand. Maybe it looks okay from the distance, but the "inside" of it is really terrible, and specially the toilets should be forbidden to ever be used again.

I just think that you got a strange wayto point out things. Would be interested to see you proposol for the new VIP facilities? Where would you put them in the stadium?

Poor guy.. Give him a break! He saw two different photos portraiting the Parken arena and gave his opinion about them. Nothing wrong with that on S&B, right?! He of course don't know nothing about bathroom-facilities or whatever.
I also must agree. To just lock up that much of the arena behind glass-bars seems like an excluding move in such a spectators sport as football.

He's just putting it like it's the common view in Denmark that this is the way the stadium should look - doubt that there are many others than the owners of parken and the VIP guests that are interested in this look.

I want draw you a proposal, but I can tell you that I would not put that many VIP`s in one stand. They should be more spread out

..and I know that it`s not common in Denmark (or atleast not in S&B) to applaud the new stand. That what`s make it so funny

The new Parken stand is strange looking with all those "VIP boxes."

I prefer the old Coca-Cola stand myself to the new one but the new one will be more modern and have better facilities + there's the issue of money...

If they build that design, Copenhagen will soon want to build an all new national stadium. The VIP-boxes are placed all wrong for football, seems like they are thinking more about concerts.

They had VIP boxes on Ullevi in the early 90s but they were later demolished. First of all because they were in the way for the new stand that was built for the world championships in athletics 1995. But the boxes were also removed because it looked so tacky. The stadium design was ruined. You danes probably remember the way it looked from the final in Euro92.

Today there are no boxes, probably because most VIP people want to sit outside in the terraces anyway. And the VIP seats have restaurants and bars behind them anyway. So please Parken, forget about this hideous design!

No way that parken is one of europes most modern arenas. Don't even think it's in the top 20 nowadays.

Which isnt working. Besides, a stadium like this wouldnt build with tax money and even if it did, it would hrdlybe wasteful...

Parken is much better than Råsunda for several reasons. The whole Råsunda is as old as the Coca cola stand. Råsunda have ofcourse been renovated some times but it is old. Parken has a removable roof and as far as I know it has many facilities like hot-dog stands, kiosks, bars, toilets (not as few as Råsunda) and it doesn't have any damn pole in front of the crowd to hold up the roof. The new parts of Parken is roomy and comfortable and so on. I understand why they want to replace the old stand with a knew modern one.

I want to add that there of course is facilities in Råsunda too but it takes a couple of minutes to reach the kiosk due to the narrow corridors. And you have do stand 20 minutes in the queue to buy a hot dog since there is so few kiosks. By that time the second half has begun long time ago... and there is no tv screens showing the match in the kiosks nor toilets. This is the kind of problem many teams in Sweden have right know. The teams earn a lot of money by selling tickets... but they don't get much money from other things like selling food and beer. Therefore we are building many new arenas here now to catch up with teams like Copenhagen FC... and I guess this is the reason why CFC wants to upgrade the Coca Cola stand... the last old ancient dinosaur in Parken.

The old outdated Råsunda haven´t been renovated for along time, this is ofcourse due to the fact that it will soon be demolished and replaced with officebuildings on that location.

For those of you who haven´t followed the "Stockholm projects" thread, I can give you some info on the new national stadium in Solna:

Capacity at concerts will be 67.500 and 55.000 at footballgames, it will have a retractable roof and will be completed 2010.

The name of the arena will be "Swedbank arena".
