Maybe because it was night time and everyone left for the day?

What do you mean by "major"? We've got about 15 highrises u/c and one in site prep.

I did not know that, but there is nothing major like a supertall u/c.

Supertalls...blec. It's like an arms race. It's a penis measuring contest. I'd rather see beautiful buildings that don't look wildly out of place like many supertalls do. We don't need supertalls. I'd also rather see Chicago build out a bit more from the lake with skyscrapers

Nice to see this project moving again. That shell was such a blight along the river.

I see it as wrong if someone accepts a building simply by height and not for it's architectural value. BUT, if I can get a nice looking supertall over a nice looking 30 floor building, then give me the supertall.

Even with the boom running buckets still being used - special mix ? or hard to reach corners ?

I agree, it is very good to see this one underway again!

Aside from the cladding hangers having to be scrapped and replaced due to weather corrosion, I am also very glad that the rest of the building was still in good enough condition to be able to be used as part of the finished structure.

(Too bad it won't be the originally-planned 89 floors, though but it will most definitely be a worthy continuation of the east-west Chicago River streetwall. )
