Damn, this view is so great!

If I would play golf over there I wouldn't hit a bal, my eyes should only be focussed at that amazing skyline view!

100m what?

The only possibility that makes sense is 100m people for the airport(s)

I am even more shocked now after seeing the video. However, it should have mentioned Business Bay.

if you could see everything you would fall out of your chair

what you can see is dubai marina under construction, but in front of it is another project coming up, called jumeirah lake towers, more than 80 towers between 35 to 45 storeys and a big 350m tower
every plot is under c and the cranes are at ground level, you can't see them

also there are many cranes in the marina working on the new tower's basements

in fact there are maybe 200 cranes in this photo, if you could see everything!

the best thing is to get an aerial shot
i have a photo permit for the city of dubai, can literally go anywhere
i'll try to get up one of the completed towers in the marina and try to take a pano shot

this will certainly kill you

the whole area i will cover with this photo has more than 400 cranes

With the development of a movie industry (this medium was yet to be fully exploited as entertainment in the first decades of the 20th century) and with (Dubai style) instant city developments like Beverly Hills LA mushroomed into a major player in a period of less than 20 years. New investment attracted wealthy lifestyle seekers from the east coast adn abroad and quickly LA became a magnet for those wanting to live in this new ''city of the future''. Los Angeles even hosted the 1932 Olympics ( a concept impossible just 2 decades earlier). Ambitious infrastructure projects and the contruction of a massive urban freeway network made LA the embodiment of the 1930s future city ideal in the 1950s.
Check your history because your own hometown resembles Dubai in more ways than you can obviously imagine.

OMG it's just too much to handle. What an inspiration Dubai is!

And the architecture?! (fainting).

Very ambitious work with the thread!
It will be interesting to see what buildings will be built (probably most of them).

Scorpion: Please don't say the thread is dead. If you don't like these type of developments that's fine but just to let you know, I put in hours of effort into making this and I'd hate to see this thread locked.

If it is I'll just open a new one anyway
