One of the new buildings in Media City.

Well the thing is.. an increase in the number of paved roads is directly proportional to an increase in the number of cars. If either rises, the other one will too.

The answer is in mass transit, which they're delaying more than other projects.

One good thing about palm jumeirah though is that monorail thingy. I heard business bay's supposed to have a public transport system aswell. Any more info about this?

I love Dubai! It's like being in LA! And mind you, it's a friendly city!

Unlike Abu Dhabi and the rest Emirates, Dubai definitely doesn't have oil that's why it opened its door to almost anything and everything to the world. And the positive result is what we can see now: the inflow of investments from all over the world - not to mention Saudi monies as investors from KSA have started to pull out from the Kingdom some years back and moved their headquarters to Dubai. I'd really like to see Dubai suceed in long term - it's such a friendly, lively and highly cosmopolitan city.

"Their current road expansion projects are a disaster. Instead of starting in one section and finishing it before starting another.. they do everything at the same time and don't have enough workers to cover all.. so it ends up taking ages and causing an inconvenience for everyone."

I guess it will be good when its all done .

Whatever he proposes is accepted, even if most people thought it wasn't going to work out. I don't really think enough people are involved with the approval of some of the projects, and despite the leaders being quite experienced, in all fairness, they're not that good to be trusted with everything and never challenged.
not working ??? what like Jebal Ali proposed by Sh Rashid, people though he was mad and now look at it.
Seems like a bit of jelousy here from Badbakht

I agree with Badbakht here. Just because they pulled it off before doesn't mean they'll pull it off this time aswell. Some stricter restrictions would be nice so that projects of low quality (ie: falcon city) don't get through.

Actually, they're using that Sh. Rashid/Jebel Ali thing all the time when anyone questions them. It gives them an excuse to go ahead with outrageously risky projects and proves their boldness and vision or something like that. They're just giving everyone the finger and doing what they want, and getting praised for it.

And yeah, I'm jealous that I can't write about how great I am by reclaiming land in a gulf.

Come on I'm not that bad. It's not like I think this whole boom will go to shambles . It's just a few projects that bug me.

BTW I've started linking the towers to their threads

Why is it bad to be pessimistic anyway? It saves you from disappointment most of the times.
