Polynesian Fire Dance

Red was one of 3 primary austronesian colours, I suppose. The 2 other primary colours were black and white.

Guam, Islas Marianas - La Isla Bonita

Welcome to Guam. Video postcard of the island of Guam (in the Marianas Islands.) Enjoy images of coconut palm trees, secluded beaches, ancient sites, colonial structures, island dancers, natural pools, and spectacular Guam sunsets.

Korea to dispatch police officer to Philippines

Seoul (The Korea Herald/ANN) - Korea's National Police Agency plans to deploy an officer overseas to help with cases involving Korean expatriates, officials said Wednesday.

.......................................

The senior inspector or superintendent deployed to the county will be responsible for the safety of Korean expatriates and tourists in the country and the arrest Korean fugitives.
.........................................

"There have been calls for increased protection by police as the number of fugitives and incidents involving Korean expatriates rise," said one police official.

===========================================================================

Hopefully other countries wont follow suit because there has been quite a rise of crimes against westerners too.

The ironic thing is most commercial establishments especially Non-Chinese ones will use The Cantonese version or even Mandarin.

I'm not Chinese but my Chinese connection is more Cantonese due to living in HK for some time.

yeah since HK is probably the most prominent chinese city, cantonese tends to be in the forefront of commercialism

it's like greeting an ilocano in bisaya...it feels kind of an awkward insult

The Chinese culture is different from ours. We would have our Fukien Tsinoys react to Cantonese slogans.

But again, to have such written in Mandarin tends to be more acceptable since it is the main lingua franca of the Chinese language.

there are people who would not accept that...I've met other fookien from other part south east asia, and they totally reject Mandarin....in fact, the national language during the Tang dynasty is much more closer to the present Hokkien than Mandarin
