I've heard about this project. Any news about it? Reminds me of the one in London and although I prefer the London one, this one's pretty nice too.

I was hoping some Chinese forumers would back me up with news about this tower.

The project for the North Bund Tower is now changed in this :

This approximately 5,112,857 square foot (475,000 square meter) development is designed to fit into the overall urban fabric and, at the same time, be distinct. The Center Tower is the dominant structure on the site and, as such, sets the tone for the rest of the development. Reaching 1053 feet (321 meters) into the sky, the tower gracefully twists to create a form that is evocative in profile of the fortuitous number 8. Its confident presence on the Shanghai skyline will be attractive to tourists and inspiring to residents. The twist is also indicative of a change of function within the building. The upper portion holds a hotel, while the lower part contains offices. Two smaller towers, both rectilinear in form, complement each other and harmonize with the center tower. One features prime office space, while the other offers serviced apartments.

I saw the construction area on the last August, was very big!
There were a lot of barracs under demolition...
I think this project is necessary to reorganize this huge dismissed area!

North Bund Area looks to be quite on hold. There is a huge boom coming in this area, no doubt about that, but they've been talking about NBT supertall for at least 4 years without any progress.

I have many images about this masterplan.

North Bund area "today". The pic is 2 years old, but I think it hasn't changed much since then after they completed the low rise removal.

Here you can see the closest zone to old Bund area. The most of these projects are built already or u/c.

North Bund Development pano

Conceptual renders of the masterplan

North Bund Tower render

Other North Bund Area main projects

Shanghai Harbor International Passenger Terminal Center (triangle buildings next to North Bund Tower)

North Bund International Cruise Terminal (John Portman's approved 321m tower)

Unknown project

In some renders you can see that NBT has been shortened. Some rumors say that it will be just 288m tall, Im not sure this is true or not, but I think that this short model is just conceptual.

Are you sure that the NBT has been changed for the turning one? I read somewhere that this would be a "North Bund second supertall".

That unknown project looks like a giant Slinky. I wonder if it can "walk" down stairs...

That N-shape building, the unknown project. Man it would be really cool if you could drive right through the loop.

The "unknown project" would be awesome to see in real life. The top should be some sort of glass arboretum.

Nice projects. They're all on the other side of the river, in front of Pudong Financial District, isn't it?

OK... so the North Bund Tower and that twisting tower are two DIFFERENT projects? They're not the same building?
