Hey it's not the size that matters, it's the design , well too me anyway. In terms of design it's up there with the big boys. Ta.

I think you should add Fordham Spire and Freedom Tower.

Wow, good job Culwulla, that Al-Bait Mecca Tower looks just massive in comparison. I think that only towers that are actually under-construction(or finished) should belong in the diagram.

Not according to the official webby of the CN Tower . It's still 553m.

Although I have heard that the spire could be extended if the need ever arose.

300m tall building on narrow street with many lowrises around looks like 700m tall where nothing around it... Eureka feels very tall!

Heightwise speaking, only Burj Dubai handily surpasses CN and Sears. Remember here that SWFC, ICC, Lotte 2 et al are marginally taller than CN and Sears to their respective roof heights (not including antennas). These newer buildings will be completed some 35 years after CN and Sears so timewise there is really nothing to brag about.

Again, heightwise, Burj Dubai is the next generation or new generation of supertall.

On information of Lotte 2, the foundation should be dug to the bottom by now and the delay was a bridge design that would reach it from across the water. This information is a couple of months old. I think they are going ahead with the building as we speak. Need some info from the boyz at Busan.

Well let's see how well Burj does before we consider it a success.

Who was talking about Lotte Tower when Taipei 101 was proposed?
Taipei was proposed in 2000?????
Anybody said that Lotter Tower will be completed before or same year of the completion of Taipei 101 at that time?

As far as I can remember,
Lotte world 2 in Busan has got no attention here in this forum so far.
Everytime my friend(korean) and I made a thread about Lotte world 2 in Busan, there were few replies(sometimes no reply, Lukily 2 or 3 replies) which saying " Lotte Tower is ugly or Is it true? I can't believe it...something like that
It seemed like a tag along with Lotte Tower forever.
So threads could not live longer as planned and we lost desire to creat a new thread about it any further.
That's why we can't find updates about Lotte World in Busan now.
Yes, I fully accept the reality of this site.
I haven't blamed and blame nobody.
My point is there is not much talking about Lotte Tower here in this forum
So please, don't say that it was like many people talked about Lotte Tower, even when Taipei 101 was proposed.

Ok, I am really sorry for the delay of completion of Lotte World 2 In Busan.
and sorry for taking 5 years with little progress of Lotte World 2 in Busan.

Anyway, here is the chronicle of Lotte World 2 in Busan, as far as I know,
Because you don't belive it
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1.Lotte World 2 in Busan broke ground in December 2000 ( The ground-breaking ceremony was on TV, Busan Mayor made his appearance )

2.Foundation work started

3.There was a big confliction between Lotte and Busan city about Young-do Bridge( Busan citizens demonstrated against Lotte )

4. Lotte stopped working of the construction

5. Lotte finally started the construction again (november last year) since the the problem of bridge had solved

6. 13.5% in progress, as of last spring this year
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe, you can ask a question like this?
Why taking time so long if the real construction of Lotte Tower has really started?

107 storey Lotte world (495m) in Busan will be built on a reclaimed land.
As you can easily guess, It took a long time to reclaim an area from the sea and harden it for the building super-tall.
It is not easy to build super-tall building by the sea.

The steel frame of the tower will be towering against the sky next year.

Maybe you might think it is just a pipe dream, NEVER BUILT.
If Lotte has no intention of getting built Lotte World 2 Tower, Why they spent so much money for changing designs and foundation work
Reclaiming a land from a sea costs an arm and a leg.

Also, Lotte had officilally televised news conference here in Korea many times
and even won a award for the improvement Busan's new image from Busan city.
If they don't build Lotte World 2, They would be faced serious difficulty
There is no forgiveness for cheating and playing foul game with Busan citizens

As far as here, my info for you
You can choose it freely, whether Believe it or not
I don't force you to believe everything I say

If there is no infomation or thread about something, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist and happen it in real world.
Because this site can manage with personal contributors
So no one contribute, there is no infomation in this site.

^ hey i believe you. i cant wait for the lotte tower to rise. i just hope we get some updated pix.
i think towers like SWFC,Union Sq,Lotte tower, taipei 101 are a generation of height above the 70's and 80's towers like sears and WTC ect, they were close to 400m in height while these latest are 500m in height, a full 20% taller. Burj Dubai is in a different catorgory altogether being nearly 50% taller then the super talls of the 70;s.
.
