Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth UK

The Spinnaker Tower is now open, with some embarrasment as the glass lift got stuck with 3 people inside infront of the press. I was asked to go up it earlier in the year to photograph the view, and have taken aerial photographs of it during it's drawn out construction. Forgive me for posting a link to my own site but I think you might like too see some of the shots here

The architect was Headley Greentree, HGP Associates (heavily influenced IMHO by the Burj Al arab hotel) a local architect in Fareham, Hampshire.

Hey- You can see the Isle of Wight

Is this the firm that did the Millenium Bridge (is that the name?) in London?

you know, the rotating pedestrian 'drawbridge'... That bridge is awesome IMO..very clever.

This tower was meant to be shaped like a sail, as was Burj Al Arab, so thats why they look similar.

(Portsmouth is a historic naval and commercial port)

It looks pretty neat. Is it just a observation tower? How much is the admission?
