Prices

Adult £4.95
Child (5-15yrs) £4.00
Concessions £4.50
Family Ticket
(2xadult 2xchild) £16.00
Additional children at full child rate.
External lift +£2.00

The observation lift, a glass lift up the outside of the tower has proved problematical. If you go, don't use the outside lift- (even if it is working), not because you might get stuck in it but because you loose the WOW factor as you walk out onto the viewing platform

It's worth the visit- Less than a fiver!

here you go- the spinny site with the details http://www.spinnakertower.co.uk/visiting.htm

you know, the rotating pedestrian 'drawbridge'... That bridge is awesome IMO..very clever.
Nope, the Millenium Bridge in London was Foster & Partners. I think the one your thinking of is in Newcastle, can't remember the name... as the London one is the one that is suppossed to 'sway'.

Cool. Are there long queues to get in, especially being so new?

About an hour at peak times I understand. I guess mid-week would be best time to visit. Thinks- is it half term this week? That could swell the queues.

Yeah, I think it's this week, but I'm not sure if it'll swell the queues.

It seems a little strange to open it at the end of the summer. Did it fall behind schedule or something?

It is beautiful one of my favourite Skyscrapers. I am looking forward to visit my old freinds down there and give it ago. It will open so many doors for Portsmouth, it will be the gateway to succes as a skyscraper city. It is a new landmakr for not just only Portsmouth but also Britain

Yea- you could say that. It was originally called the Millennium Tower. That gives you some idea of how far behing schedule it is! Now its finally finished the local council didn't want it sitting there without being open to the public. The operator would have rather opened it at the start of the tourist season. A real political hot potato.
To add to another poster-
" It will open so many doors for Portsmouth, it will be the gateway to success as a skyscraper city. It is a new landmark for not just only Portsmouth but also Britain"
If marketed properly you are right. It should become an icon of the UK. It has already brought work to the reigion in its construction, let's hope it continues, now to bring the tourist £ to businesses in the area.

Aye... I was thinking of the Newcastle/Gateshead bridge, not London's.

(which btw, I think the Newcastle Bridge is much, much nicer than the Foster in London)
