Took this picture today. This is a from a overpass on I-95. Believe it or not this was taken all the way from Northeast Philadelphia. I believe that's due to the fact that the Northeast sits on a hill, so that's why you can see Center City from that vantage point.

Such a beautiful building. The facade is unbelieveable.

The City Of Brotherly Love

I walked into the Comcast Center yesterday. The man at the desk told me that people have been working at their offices since the end of December, but the building will not have it's "grand opening" until around May 1st. Interior work is still going on and there are a lot of offices that are not quite finished, nor is the new cafe in the front concourse of the building (which should open in mid-March).

Anyway, it is a real trophy for our city. Author Bill Bryson called Philadelphia "the ugliest city in America" (but that was in the 1980s) ... I invite all of you to visit our reborn world class city, full of great architecture (the home of Frank Furness and Louis I. Kahn), great museums, great music venues, charming residential neighborhoods, clean safe parks and beautiful statuary and fountains everywhere.

This building suits the Philadelphia skyline really well and the glass at the top looks really impressive.
Philly's skyscrapers look more like pieces of art than buildings especially with the impressive crowns they have on them.
I love this building aswell as the other surrounding skyscrapers, especially the glass ones.

The Comcast Center rocks. But man, Philly has a little too much PoMo going on in that skyline.

LOL

Well, all the better to show up this one (not that it needs any help), although Liberty Plazas 1 & 2 are pretty cool pieces of PoMo IMHO.

No-one can find a bad word to say about this one, even the trolliest of trolls on SSC.

Thanks for the pic updates
