A 27-story Sheraton Hotel that was built in 1957 stood on this site. It probably passed away in the mid-to-late 80s.

I'm sooo envious. Philly is getting quite the boom compared to up here.

Everything about this tower is awesome and I love the two transparencies of glass!

I had three hours layover at Philadelphia airport so decided to do a quick trip of downtown. This was my first visit to Philly and, frankly, I was a bit hesitant due to its not-so-envious reputation in the past. I expected dead city center with vacant lots and boarded up builidings.

I came out of Market Street East train system through the impressive hall of huge convention center and was pleasantly surprised to find a vibrant, clean and dense city center with impressive architecture (both new and old). I think Philly has certainly done a great job of reinventing itself into a truely world-class city.

Wow... and just to let ya know.. you saw the ugly part of downtown around Market East. You'd be pretty impressed with Market West
