➲ Urban Development

Seems, nobody from Georgia here... But they are getting their first modern highrises.

Today in Tbilisi there was presented the project of twin towers to be built there. Their height would be approximately 110 meters, costs of the project - some 30 mio USD, investor - local Axis Tayer.
According to description one building would be white, other - black, otherwise they would have similar architecture. Use - offices.

I don't believe Tbilisi municipality allows to build such a building there. As i know construction of very high buildings(more than 100 m) is prohibited there. The same is in Baku. There are some 500 12+ storey buildings u/c in Baku. But construction of very tall skyscrapers is prohibited.

Very interesting, dying to see the renderings. Georgia in general is on the right track of development.

Galandar, maybe it will be built on the outskirts of the city, far from the centre?

Well thread is from 2005. but we finally have some renderings and information:

“AXIS Towers”

First Georgian skyscraper

A first-class business center has already begun construction in the center of Tbilisi on Chavchavadze Avenue. The height of 30-floor Georgian skyscraper exceeds 130 meters. The building will consist of two towers of identical form and height. One tower will be covered by glass and other will be covered by stone. The business centre will be of modern architectural style and will be equipped with modern technologies and all necessary elements including: conference halls, parking, and etc. It is important to be noted, that a new road will be paved around business center for more effecient transportation to and from the building.

Park Hyatt

Iveria

Also two other interesting projects are Pixel34

and Shatil Tower

Those are russian made trains made by a company called ZRJEPS located in Moscow.

Just recently Tbilisi received dozens of new of those trains to modernize the train fleet of the Tbilisi metro.

Le clerk the Tbilisi metro is very unpopular with it's citizens because of very high crime in the underground and many georgians can afford cars now so they preffer a car.

Sakashvilli is hoping to change the image of the Metro by modernizing it.
Most reconstruction work is done by Turkish firms.

some pics of the Tbilisi metro.
