Please fix it!

I waited four years for the completetion of this magnificent building, please sunland group don't wreck it now. I love this building, however i definatley have an issue with the crown and spire of the building. In some shots it is absolotley prefect and in others i question the cheapness and tackiness expressed by its physique. The crown looks half finsihed in some shots with its exponential curve finishing just short of the entire length of the 79th floor. However in some shots again this crown looks amazing.. particulary from the behind. Until they fix the crown and make it truly spectatcular which i hope they will do i cannot give the building a 10. Beautiful and stunning and a assest to the Gold Coast Skyline. Furthermore i would like the design team to possibly cap the 79th floor with a semicircle to get rid of the block shape or even finsih it with an elipse. Overall a beauty 9.5 can't wait to go up in January and have a close inspection to see wether or not Sunland have worked on that corwn!

LOL - leave him alone he's entitled to his opnion, though I have lived in Leeds (Cross Green) and Bradford and let me tell you - they are nothing and have no skyscrapers that can compare with anything in Austrlalia.

@Q12005 - welcome to the forum. I agree with you in some ways, from the back the crown doesn't look all that great IMO - but after seeing it today in 'the flesh' I have come to realize that it is an amazing skyscraper and is one of Australia's best. Its quite strange to have a massive skyscraper like that and just opposite have small houses! Gold Coast is bizzar in that way. Hopefully this development will spur heaps of new urban development around Q1. Currently the area is not very people friendly at ground level.

9.5/10

If the building had another crown and not the oversized spire I would give a 10.

Possibly a little over-hyped because of its importance and location, but still a very elegant and beautiful tower. The spire is nothing to be ashamed and adds a certain "pinnacle of the city" quality to the building. Otherwise, it'd just be a tall building. I give it a 9/10.

Really elegant building, even though I've never been a fan of green glass anywhere, let alone on the Gold Goast. Still, I think Q1 may have one of the best views of any building on earth.

I gave it an 8.5.

I think the building is OVER-spired. The stick takes away too much attention from the interesting top. A little shorter and it would have been better balanced.

Its lighting at night is superb.

Don't like the railing on top which looks like a fence and adds to the over-spired look - they really should have continued the glass up there.

But overall a beautiful building that could have been much better.

Cheers,

Adam

The variety of shapes making the facade is great and contributes a lot to the height feel. The cladding's quality is pretty good and the lighting is great. I also like how the top floors are protuding out of the crown. I'm a bit sad that the spire is cut off like that at the bottom... It makes the building look a bit unbalanced.
Well that's probably one of the best-looking residential skyscrapers in the world anyway...

A bit of a cheater in the way that if it didn't have the fin and the spire it'd be #90ish, but seeing it does have the fin and spire, it looks absolutely magnificent 10/10

9/10

Excellent design, but way too much spire (more than 100 feet).
