Well, it is not one of the biggest but I had not seen anything about it in skyscrapercity.com. Here it is...

Here you have the new terminal building currently under development:

Aeropuerto actual* -> Aeropuerto futuro

Superficie aeroportuaria 845 hectáreas -> 1.533 hectáreas
Superficie de los terminales 103.125m2 -> 580.000 m2
Operaciones por hora 52 -> 90
Operaciones al día 800 -> 1.200
Pasajeros al año 25 millones -> 40 millones
Posiciones de contacto 24 -> 85
Mostradores de facturación 113 -> 300
Cintas de equipajes 14 -> 33
Plataformas de aeronaves 70 posiciones -> 168 posiciones
Terminal de carga 35.000 metros -> 160.000 metros

* Antes de aprobarse el Plan Director y ponerse en marcha el Plan de Infraestructuras 2000-2007.

And, beyond that ?

Well, let's see what AENA (spanish airports authority) say about further enlargements of Barcelona airport capacity:

"Beyond Barcelona Plan

El proceso de transformación del aeropuerto no se acaba con la puesta en servicio de la nueva pista de vuelos, la nueva área terminal y los nuevos accesos viarios y ferroviarios.

Más allá del año 2008, y más allá de la operación estrictamente aeroportuaria, veremos cómo se van haciendo realidad el Parque Industrial, el Centro de Carga y la City, desarrollando una auténtica ciudad de servicios a los pasajeros y los agentes relacionados con la industria aeroportuaria, aeronáutica y logística.

También veremos cómo más allá del año 2015 se construye un satélite para procesar unos 15-20 millones de pasajeros más.

Todo ello podrá ser posible porque existe una planificación y se está realizando un diseño para que en Barcelona puedan aterrizar y despegar, en un año, más de 55 millones de pasajeros."

BTW, the name that we use commonly for the new terminal is "la espada": "the sword".

New terminal must open in 2008-9.
The 3rd runway is working since October 2005.

The new control tower (3r one of BCN airport) is already finished and will be working very soon!

37 new cranes are being installed in BCN airport to built the new terminal building!!

The will affect planes for 5 months, in case of low visibility...
