Very nice indeed.

30% of flights now at T1, but 70% at the end of this year!

Visit to the new terminal with Bitxofo

Hello to all the forumers.

Yesterday I had a great evening with my friend Bitxofo visiting together the T1. Thanks to him I realised certain details I hadn't discovered a few days ago when I did the visit by myself. There're the pics:

From the parking top level. Way to the departures.

Nice view from the departures level, front doors. You can see the parking buldings and an old control tower. Perhaps a restaurant with awesome views in the future?

There will be two outdoors terraces like this one, where you'll be allowed to smoke.

Only Star Alliance flights at this moment.

Always full of natural light. As you can see it's very easy to take pictures now that the facilities are only working at 30% of its capacity.
To the outside...

...and to the inside. You can see the security doors to the back. Check in desks to the sides, and this lovely curved roof.

Drop off sign for Spanair, Austrian and Star Alliance in general.

To the right side, you can see ticket desks for several airlines.

Past the ticket desks you can see this curious sign, which we haven't seen before.

Transversal view.

VIP Lounge in the air side.

Gaig Restaurant will open next Autumn. This restaurant has received a star from the famous Michelin Guide. Not too many airports can enjoy such a quality!

We even discovered a hidden corner which its not finished yet!

Close to Gaig there's another restaurant, QueQueviures, I forgot to take a pic, but I can tell there're places for charging your laptop or cell phone.

View above Sky Centre. You can see a LOT plane.

View of the "sword"'s inside.

Two Spanair birds and one of Estonian Air parked in the T1 side with their fingers.

An old complain has been solved at last: there will be clocks at Barcelona airport!

Arrivals Level.
One of the cafes, which is still waiting for the opening.

We didn't know what will be the use for this place... Bitxofo says it wasn't there last week.

Multi-confessional oratorio.

Shame on AENA: that would be the Generalitat's Tourism Office at T1! Behind two columns and a bench when there's plenty of space a little further! At this moment the Catalan Government has said no to that space (they're right, I would't go there neither) because "it's not finished" but pictures show the truth... who would like to be hidden there?

Taxis waiting at ground level.

You can see several Vueling advertisments like this by the arrivals level.

This space will be where the subway and railway passengers reach the T1.

The counters for checking in directly after leaving the subway.

Shuttle bus between T1 and T2 (about 12 minutes time)

Back to T2 and its wonderful Miro's mural.

And finally you can see here one of the T2's most important men: Miquel. AAAAAAAAAAATENTION!!!

Hope you like it.
Thanks to Bitxofo and all the wonderful people I met with him!

thanks for all the pics guys!

I still have to try this new terminal but judging for your pics i´s say that the terminal looks really impresive from the outside with a clean shape and a very stetical results.

When it comes to the indoor looking i´d risk myself to say that it´s a bit classical but still modern and friendly.

When comparing it to Barajas T4, and this is just my personal opinion, i d rather say that Barajas T4 tops out Barcelona´s Espada in its indoor looking, Baraja´s T4 it´s simply stunning, and Barcelona´s Espada beats Barajas in its oudoor lookin.

What it´s clear is that Spain´s mayor Airports are now top of the top.

I agree with you, Madrid T4 is more beautiful inside and Barcelona T1 is nicer outside.
I love both, they are great terminals and they make 1st class airports!

Afer having been to both terminals, all I can say is that Barcelona's T1 looks better than Madrid's T4 both in the outside and the inside, its design looks more minimalist, elegant, light and functional. But I guess it's up to one's preferences on design

I like the clean design as well. It reminds me of the airport here in Hong Kong. I only would have preferred gray or white floor tiles to make it even more clinical looking.
