This terminal is very advanced now, It will be finished in 2008 and it will start service in 2009, with some months of delay...

Nice design!

Barcelona and Munich are the two European airports that will soon join the really big airports of the world. If their growth continues at the current pace I can see them reaching 50 Mill. passengers pretty soon.

The new terminal, still under construction, has been assigned today for One World and Star Alliance!

Opening at the beginning of 2009.

Good news! But doesn't that mean that very few airlines will use the old terminals? Won't they be very empty?

No, it will be like this:

60% passengers in the new terminal South (One World & Star Alliance).
40% passengers in the old terminals North (Sky Team & low cost airlines).

How many diffrent low cost airlines serve BCN? When I flew into BCN in SEP I seen just about every low cost I have herd off, plus in the city plenty of adverts for Easyjet and Transavia.

BTW, the terminal construction is very impressive, Spanish aviation seems to be doing really well, even ALC has a prety big expansion underway.

Hundreds of low cost airlines in BCN airport, but no Ryanair!

Yes, that is ver unfair because many tourists come to the wrong airport, and they lose their flights...

Ryanair's distinct airport names are indeed a bit tricky, but in the end the tourists have to blame themselves, if they cannot read.

I think the flight should be Tornoto-BCN instead... Star Alliance said that they wanted to grow in Barcelona by adding new Long Haul routes, so I don't understand it very well.

Air Transat already flies from BCN to Montreal or Toronto.
