Not aware of another big skyscraper going up in the area, although there is a big site along Nathan Road nearby that is being redeveloped now. The sheer scale of this building is quite impressive, and I doubt something similar will rise in that area any time soon.

which kind of sucks. People in Hong Kong are getting propaganda'd into thinking tall is bad nowadays.

If designed properly, tall is way better than out. Developers just need to be willing to sacrifice some money to come up with towers that will provide for sustainable development.

People show skepticism over a series of tall buildings, but not tall buildings in general. It's all about ventilation and packing buildings together, not the fact that developers are building tall.

This tower should have about 68 floors.

Great observation...

It's just the name of the road. There are numerous roads in Hong Kong named after places e.g. Peking Road, Shanghai Street, Canton Road.

I saw this under covers when I was in Hong Kong last summer, it's great to see the wrapping paper peeled off and a skyscraper revealed! The design isn't as bad as most people say it is, just it's in a very prominent location. It needs some neighbours I think!

It's location in Tsim Sha Tsui makes it even worse. If they had build that monstrosity in Mongkok at least it would have been less visible from HK island.

This is certainly not what I would call an elegant design. I also hope for better looking tall buildings around it in the future.

I don't know why this tower looks so bad from Central.

From Tin Hau, it has a nice sleek appearance (since you only see the side angle). It's also not that bad looking from close-up.

Looks ****** terrible from Central though...
