That's one long terminal! I wouldn't want to catch a connecting flight leaving from a gate on the other side of that terminal, but I'm sure there are "speedy" ways of getting from one end to the other.

Having a huge long terminal like that is reminiscent of DTW here in the states, only on crack.

Looking to the construction pics, it seems that Beijing T3 is divided to 3 terminals?
If so I guess Suvarnbhumi airport is larger because it has more than 530,000m^2 for one single terminal. What do you think? |

Judging from both pictures, comparing to the length of runways, the constructure area of BKK airport can't be 530,000m^2, if beijing T3 is 900,000m2. It looks BKK terminal is only 1/3 or 1/4 to Beijing one. It may due to different references to the sizes quoted above.

Well the new BKK would still be smaller than HKIA according to some sources because HKIA has currently increased the terminal size.

Well.. maybe the HKIA has currently increased the terminal size, but it will no longer count as a single terminal. Also that giant terminal of the new Beijing's is divided into 3 buildings(including 2 satellite buildings), therefor the new BKK airport will still hold the title of the world's largest single terminal, besides, they are now going to start the process of constructing the 2nd terminal right after the completion of the 1st terminal, so all together the BKK airport will still be the biggest in the world even bigger than that of Beijing's or any other airport(including their future expansion).

so please stop claimming to hold the world's single largest terminal, because it will not be - not the terminal and not the the whole size of the terminals put together. This thread is not a VS thread, it's pure measurement and figures here.
