Wow. In the drop-off area, you can see the ENORMOUS curve of the roof. Amazing modern architecture in a very Chinese way!

Good for Japan, #1 in terms of passenger transported. China is expected to be in top 3 within 5 years.

The 97 million figure is for the overall passenger statistical numbers for Tokyo Haneda International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport.

If that's the way you measure traffic statictics then you'd better include all 3 of New York Metropolitan Area's airports (La Guardia, JFK, and Newark Liberty). That'd add up to 100 million pax. You should also add up all traffic of Greater London's 5 airports which will yield 137 million pax.

That means that the Greater Tokyo Area will only be the third largest metro in terms of annual civilian air traffic passengers.

1. Greater London (London-Heathrow International Airport, London-Stansted Regional Airport, London Gatwick Regional Airport, Luton Airport, and London City Airport -- 137 million pax
2. New York Tri-State Area (all 12 airports within this area--including John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and La Guardia Regional Airport) -- 100++ million
3. Greater Tokyo (Tokyo-Haneda International Airport and Tokyo-Narita International Airport) -- 97 million

So? This thread is about the Beijing terminal not Japan's passenger numbers.

Very nice airport P-S-30. But can I remind you that this thread is dedicated to Beijing Airport, and it is under construction.

Thank you

Off-topic posts should be deleted, particularly those ones from a bunch of Japanese nationalists.

Do you Japanese have memory loss or something? This thread isn't about Japan post your airport pics somewhere else or start your own thread. Besides theres really nothing impressive about them. Hong Kong's Airport or even Guangzhous can kick all of Japan's airport. When this Beijing one is done it'll for sure be one of the best airports in the world.

I wish I could jump in and brag about how U.S. airports are the best but sadly they're not.

I can't wait to see this new terminal in Beijing. Are they moving all International flights there? I'd be kinda sad if my plane started taxiing to the old terminal after landing.

Except for China Southern Airlines I think possibly other Chinese carriers. Isn't Terminal One all for CS?

The new Beijing Airport is going to be awesome!! One question....that BIG hump in front of the terminal...what is that? It looks similar to the transportation building at Incheon Airport in Seoul!!

@ [anyone]

The very obvious flaw to this seemingly flawless airport-terminal-design is the size of its car parking facility. Beijing is expected to have 3 million land vehicles in time for the Olympic Games.

How in the hell can a relatively small parking facility accomodate the demand for parking space?!

And taxis...

I wouldn't be surprised to see them implement a network of limousine bus routes similar to Incheon or Narita at some point, although with rapid transit this might not be needed.
