It is simply awesome. Too bad the road signs are too small. Would any members here can inform the highway officials? They have to make it a perfect airport for the Olympics.

It seems like the construction seems to be smooth and I starting to see the real beauty of the airport. I wonder if the terminal will open in scheduled date?

More than likely the 2nd tower would be used A) To handle traffic 20 nautical miles and beyond or B) Control traffic on the ground and bays....

BEWARE: Don't drive at the center lane or else you may get to the departure area.

NOTE: They need to make the signs bigger so that we can read it from far away (especially to a foreigner who does not know the city) and make a better descriptions on the lane because its a bit misleading.
i think they may have another set of the same thing before travlers see this one. I think this kind of "double-sign" design is pretty standard for highway design around the world.

Not here in United States. You are going to get sued if you have a sign like that for misleading.

These type of signs are everywhere in Canada. Are you sure they're no in the US as well?

I find them very clear and direct.

Nope, I haven't seen one yet. Probably there is but not here in DC Area. They make sure that drivers will be warn 1 mile or 1/2 mile before it divides. The problem is even though it is clear and direct, people still makes mistakes and go to the wrong direction.

It seems to me, at least in the U.S, that airport signs are always more confusing than the regular street or highway signs. They use different colors and the way they direct cars is very non-standard. In Austin it seems really easy to follow the PARKING sign then screw up by entering the LONG term parking instead of the SHORT term parking and vice-versa. It kinda makes me feel retarded.

Thanks for the Pics, Yiserexoica.

It's almost done!

By the way, I haven't yet seen a single image during nights. I wonder if anyone got one?

Think it takes sometime to test the runway, the luggage system etc.

Actually 3 months seem a bit too short in my opinion, considering the fact that most new terminals around the world may take up to one year testing before becoming fully operational. Looks like Beijing has no choice but to shorten the test period in order to open the new terminal before the Olympics.

Having airlines moving to the new terminal in 2 separate shifts is a good idea though.

Test the runway? I don't think you need tests of those, they're just a concrete strip.
