Beijing T3 should use trees found in northern China climate zones not those from the tropics or mediterranean it doesnt match.

These plants (棕榈, Trachycarpus fortunei, Chinese windmill palm) are not from tropics or mediterranean. They are originated from subtropics in China and can live naturally in northen China (temperate zone) like Beijing.

I just went to terminal three (T3 ) yesterday afternoon and hurriedly took some shots in the running car ......

Very grand indeed. I like the airbridge all glass, and that corridor between the airbridge and the terminal bldg is big.

is the green fence around the satellite terminal between the two Y-shaped parts of T3 ?

Are they still doing some construction work there? I thought that its also already finished...

I guess so, the middle part will be used by Olympic flights only so it might not be 100% ready yet.

I think T3C (the middle part) will be used by the foreign carriers (PAL, KLM, MAS etc) that are left in T2 after the olympics.

Very impressive --- i think the west could learn much from this type of ambition. Instead many of us here in western countries are put through horse/cattle barns masquarading as aiports

A few questions on airport flow:

1) What is the function of the level just below the pedestrian bridges -- is that arrivals?

2) To get to the main shopping areas, do u need to pass through security?

3) To get to the gates/lounges, do you need to go down a level from the check-in level?

4) Could anybody post pictures of the main sattelite concourse 3C please?

Thanks
Aqua

It already looks crowded in some of the rush-hour pics.

There is the Animation Guide of Departure, Arrival and Transfer at the three terminals. It's in Chinese language but may be a little helpful.
