I red that Dubai International Airport is larger than this giant is that correct? in wikipedi it says "Terminal 3 of the BCIA is currently the second largest airport passenger terminal building of the world. Its title as the world's largest was surrendered to Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3 (over 1,500,000 mē) on October 14, 2008."

Not a big deal but i just wondered.

No, Dubai International Airport's T3 is the world largest airport passenger terminal in terms of area. On Google Earth, it doesn't look like it because much of the terminal, the arrivals/departures area is underground. Only the gates are above ground.

What's great about T3 is the fact that the Chinese used their vast skilled labour force in the areas of steel fabrication etc. to develop this gargantuan terminal. Great finishing here...

What's the latest news on the T3E (the small concourse between T3C and T3D)? Is it already in use right now?

If someone would have said that an airport terminal of this scale from a fresh project to a complete building could be built in 4 years, I would have said it's bullshit. Normally it takes decades to plan and implement something like this. Anyway since it's actually built now I guess this will be one of my main attractions when I'll get to Beijing some time next year. Too bad one day would probably not be enough to actually explore the whole thing.

Anyway I remember watching a docu on this airport .So one of the architects i guess who was a french guy was saying .When the project started and I saw the entire labour force aligned it felt as if I am in the past and I have suddenly been given the task of over seeing the construction of the pyramids of giza

On a lighter note 3000 years of world history has proven conclusively that a man should never and ever under estimate the brilliance, will, the abilities and the capabilities of the chinese people and their country as a whole

I'm sorry what I meant was T3D (the middle concourse that was used by charter flights of the athletes during the Olympics).

3D is now "reserved" for international flights, ever since the end of the Olympics.

Dam he is right i just did some research. Dubai took the title of the world's largest airport in October 2008. Oh well China still has a chance to reclaim that title since Beijing will built another airport so will Shanghai for its 3rd terminal

Frankly it dosen't matter , Beijing Capital is in a class of it's own not only because of it's size but it's design and completion deadline.

Too large a terminal can look Ghostly and like a megalith.
