As a Chinese resident in Beijing, frankly speaking I don't like it. It's just not friendly to passengers -- you must walk so long to and from the boarding gate; You have to take a lift to the taxi area -- there are so few lifts you need to wait for long and the lifts are hard to use; many stupid huge decorations occupy lots of space.. I can give a list of inconveniences.

But I must say its quite beautiful airport

hw many aerobridges are there in total?? it looks too long anyway, and alot of the gates/bridges seem empty!

Great airport, architecturally speaking one of the best in the world, I still rember myself staring at the roof the first time I landed there (May 2008)
Details are not as good as the general view though

Being an expat based in Beijing last here, I flew in and out BCIA 70+ times, I could blind walk into it... if you know the correct shortcut you can handle the dimension problem quite easily

Pros
-functional: taking into consideration the dimension and some mistakes in the design everything goes smoothly, usually I can arrive at the airport, make check-in, security and proceed to gate in less than 15 minutes...
-clean
-LOTS of natural light
-clear indications, it's hard to get lost inside it

Cons
-huge, walking distance can be very long... especially if you're lucky enough to leave from E1 (happened to me a couple of times, once I had to catch a cart to get to the gate on time )
-optimal desing for an airport is to be long and narrow... but the entrance has to ben on the long side, not on the short one!
-not the best place to have some lunch or dinner prior your flight
-D gates subterminal seems a ghost town
-taxi waiting zone is another big design mistake (was better when you could catch taxis at 1F)
-train to/from the city not an option (imho) compared to taxi

If I had to rate it, I'd say 4 out of 5, far behind the 3 gems (SIN, HKG and ICN)

Beijing International Airport architecturally its designed very well but internally, the staff can be somewhat annoying. You need to strictly pass the N1H1 testing area before going through the main gates and the staff are rude and pushy. (This is someone who lives in Beijing). Anyways, its probably the most beautiful airport in that I have ever seen personally.

What would be the final capacity of this airport. From previous pages I came to know that it is 76 million. Are there any plans to increase this capacity or the new airport is going to absorb all of the new capacity ?

Another question. T3 has 3 separate parts. Then why it is considered as a single building ?

Thanks

I confirm that. It is so in my own language (slovak) for example.
