I was there in May. The beltway is definitely a monster.

Hey, history is history. Tonight, the sarcasm is off. Literalism rules the roost.

They are doing a massive reconstruction project on that interchange currently. It's actually very interesting to see up close.

I see the same type of scenario happening here as it did in Detroit. Canada will front some cash to get the project built

Canada has proved that it will go to great lengths to get the proper infrastructure put in place to have its goods delivered to market
It's not a vital trade route.

If you look at Northern Maine on Google Earth you can see that the route essentially runs through the middle of nowhere and does not even remotely serve a purpose.

You can't possibly compare the new Detroit-Windsor bridge with this useless (if it does indeed get built) road.

It's gonna be a bitch to keep that Maine expressway ploughed 24/7 in the wintertime, for the few people that will use it.

I-635 @ DNT Dallas

The I-635 / Dallas North Tollway interchange. During the last 40 years, the urban area has expanded another 20 miles north of here.

I-35E Dallas, TX

Construction of the elevated toll lanes alongside I-35E in northern Dallas. It's part of the LBJ Freeway makeover.

Hi everyone! New guy here. First things first, I love the pictures and discussions going on here.
As a New Jersey resident, does anyone have good information and/or pictures about the rehabilitation of the Alexander Hamilton Bridge (I-95 between Manhattan and The Bronx)? I saw in the paper today an article warning about the traffic, but not much about the project itself.

Greetings!
I grew up in north(ish) Jersey myself. First I heard of this was this morning, driving to my mother's from Philadelphia. WINS radio is calling it Carmaggedon. If I understood properly, the center lane (center lanes?) will be closed on 95 north/eastbound at the Alexander Hamilton. 24 hours a day for about three months, I think they said. There are signs on the Turnpike well south of New Brunswick warning of "construction on 95 at 87."

I-405 Orange County, California

The alternatives for widening I-405 in Orange County from SR-73 to I-605.

I reckon alternative #2 will be most popular. Toll lanes appear to be very unpopular, coming up with the "we've already paid for this road" mantra.

That's a General Purporse lane. Basically just a through lane to be used by all traffic, as opposed to auxiliary or HOV lanes.
