The only thing I think is original about the tower is it's cladding. The shape doesn't move mountains at all.

I think the cladding in general is normal (Chelsea Tower in Dubai is similar) despite the top.
Do you have any tower in mind with similar shape?

It's just a big rectangle with some angles thrown in at the end of the day. What is so original about it? I think this tower is overrated.

Following this thought, there are no original skyscrapers on the world. All are big rectangles/cylinders/triangles with some angles here/there.

It's a style termed fractal. One Bryant Park in NYC is a fractal piece as well.

As far as liking it or not...it's all subjective. Personally I think it could have been really bad choosing for example, a really cheap cladding. As it is turning out, IMO, they have done a big rectangle (quite a few actually) with some angles thrown in really, really well.

Like Urban Dave, I am curious as to what scraper/s Sitback (who we understand by now doesn't like it so much) has in mind.

lol. i think you have it the wrong way around; the blue cladding is very common on high rises and is placed on like many other buildings; panel for floorplate, and panel for the actual floor..
imo, the shape is very unique. one of the main things i haven't seen on another building is the diagonal lines on either side that cut though the mid/upper part of the tower and out of the gold chunk.
but my point is, perhaps if the blue cladding was a more unique colour, like green, you'd notice it more out of every other tower. although that would defeat the purpose of calling it: Eureka.

Leaving the word 'truly' aside, my point was that being labelled "weird' is a good thing. 'Unfamilar is a good thing. Someone said they didn't like Eureka because it was weird.

With the long days in Melbourne at the moment, and some truly spectacular sunsets, Eureka is really starting to look special. From City Road in South Melbourne and Swan Street in Richmond, the colours, lines and scale is really beautiful. The building looks incredibly modern and detailed, with a facade and crown that is almost jewel-like.

Eureka has really grown on me since the core dissapeared and the crown started to form. The scale and precision of human creativity and ingenuity is fabulous. Eureka is razor-sharp.

LOL all buildings are square in origins OMG you got a square and turned it into a circle. Tha type of thinking is stupid the building is a masterpeice, it's angles are clever, give the building character and some edge.

Of what is underconstruction in London at the moment Eureka is definitely better. But I do think Difa Tower and London Bridge Tower both soon to get underway with construction have stronger designs.

Not that I'm trying to make it a competition between the two cities.

Both London and Melbourne are marvelous cities with some marvelous buildings. LBT certainly looks special. Reminds me a little of the Grollo Tower originally planned for Melbourne's docklands a few years ago.
