O man mugley. Nice shots.
What are they painting at the top? Utility? I love the Red portion. It fits in well on the building and it's kind of a neat look. New.

2nd pic is my fav, really shows how the golden crown tops it off and ads the final touch to the building.

I am absolutely amazed at how much this tower has turned out like the renders....beautiful, sexy and unique. A job well done.

I find that the tower looks very different to the official renders, especially the colour of the glass, which was a pale blueish colour in the renders.

yeah but the colour of the glass changes with each photo.....I have seen it looking pale blue, dark blue, almost black and sometimes silver.

The bit of the Core you can still see, they are painting it a blackish grey, looks good.
As for the glass, it chages colours every hour, depending on the position of the sun, if there are clouds and what angle you are looking at it.

The name Eureka has a meaning, it was the Eureka Stockade 150 years ago, a fight between gold miners and police/troops.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_Stockade
(read a short summery of the Eureka Stockade )
And the tower looks as it does, because of the Eureka Stockade. Blue and white for the flag of the Eureka Stockade, gold because thats what the whole thing was about, mining the gold, and Red for the blood spilt over the revolt.

Nice to see that you got the blue-clad Rialto Towers on the right-hand side, Melbourne's previous record title for height to roof @ 251m in the same shot ie in the 2nd pic you posted above.

Not really a "stupid name" @ all. It's actually named after the Eureka Stockade, which is part of Australian history and folklore. So it has deeper significance.

The red stripe on both the eastern and western sides symbolises a cut in the skin, indicating the blood split during The Eureka Stockade which was a miners' revolt in 1854. If interested, you can read a little more on it here: Eureka Stockade

Q1's roof is not taller than Eureka's 297.3m to roof/parapets, but Q1's spire takes it to a much taller height of 323m (to roof it's only 327m)

A few more recent pics by Archibomber...

Q1 is only 275m to roof. The rest of its height is in the form of a skinny pole. Q1 has 78 floors. Eureka has 91 floors. The Eureka Tower is a bigger and taller BUILDING (not including poles) than Q1. But due to the Q1 having a 50m pole on its roof it is officially regarded as being taller. Similar to the Sears Tower being taller to roof than Petronas Towers.
