For some strange reason when I look at Eureka today I see a resemblance to the Bloomberg Tower in New York.

The above hot-air balloon shot was taken by salamagd

This great skyline pic was in Part 1 yet worthwhile posting again:

Eureka crown render by Curtain:

...and one by simma:

Here are a couple of recent pics taken by pikey from Rialto's observation deck.
Rialto Towers will now be Melbourne's 2nd highest scraper @ 251m/824ft:

Day view from level 32 of the western side of the Melbourne CBD:

Evening shot from level 44 looking across the Yarra River to the main western side of the traditional (brightly lit) Melbourne CBD:

2 more evening shots, once again from level 44 taken by salamagd:

Western side of the CBD:

...and across to the eastern side:

2 pics taken from about level 80, looking south-west:

...and quite a few retro pics from level 82, taken in March '05 hence the abundance of cranes around:

More recently, taken from level 70...

One of the entrances:

...and the lobby/reception area area:

Taken by mugley:

Another pic taken by salamagd, showing the first horizotal cladding of gold:

absolutely super. Was in Melbourne over 3 years ago when they were just starting on Eureka, and seeing it now, and the views from the top, well.... Outstanding. Be proud of yourselves chaps, the tallest I've got proposed so far in Leeds is only 160m, but we'll get there!

The name Eureka stems from a battle that occured on the goldfields in Central Victoria.

I take it from the latest renders and pics that the spire is not going ahead.

Can someone let me know what is going on with it ?
