Thanks for all the construction pic updates on this page and the previous page of this thread guys! Much appreciated

Even though not that tall, the glass cladding is really, really top-notch.

This is going to be a great addition to the London downtown skyline.

Thanks again and can't wait to see the final completed project.

Is that an old castle in the foreground?

The facade of this building looks great, btw. It reflects the sky quite nicely. My first impression was that it would be darker than this, but I like how it looks against a blue sky.

Yes. The oldest part was started a few years after the Norman Conquest in 1066. It's the oldest building in London (not counting fragments of Roman structures).

Mind blowing photos... absolutely mindblowing... few cities can compare to the character in that skyline.

But Will... what i can never understand... is why you think the view OF Waterloo bridge is better than the view FROM waterloo bridge....

Any particular reason? I would have thought the Waterloo view (which brings in tower bridge and canary wharf) would be much more pleasing....

I agree Munch. Waterloo Bridge is quite possibly my second (or maybe third) favourite bridge in London. Architectually I don't really like it and wonder why it is so frequently included in pictures (except to act as geometrical contrast with the distant skyline creating a foreground) but I really do believe a Waterloo sunset is one of the most beautiful views in the world - certainly in the urban world.

The view of Waterloo Bridge (from Hungerford downstream footbridge), I think, makes for a much better picture of 'The City'. Agreed that the view from encompasses much more of the skyline though.
