i love the picture from the street level as shown in the last pic. theire is only glass. and i find the other side not nice, with the cladding similar to tower 42 and the building quite bulky

I like both the side-cladding (that is similar to the one on Tower 42), and the one that is all glass on the stepped-side of the building... but I'm not so sure about the glass on the back-side.

Yeah, the stepped side is superior to the straight side, but I wouldn't go so far as to call the straight side 'horrible'... I actually quite like the way it echoes Tower 42's cladding. Its still high-quality, and certainly better than most other City highrises in that respect.

05/04/07 From the bar at the top of T42:

The darker glass on the top portion doesn't look that bad - although this was on a beautiful sunny spring afternoon.

I don't mind the black top, even i it isn't to everyones taste, it is, overall, extremely high quality glass cladding.

A couple I took the other day, showing how dramatic the building is:

What a stunning tower!

When I was in London last winter, I wasn't impressed by the rendering I saw (when I was in that area and saw it going up) and I despised the design.

Now it's one of my fave towers! Go City of London!!!

Adjacent to Norman Foster's one, the building resembles me with sheets of papers.

Its not the best view of the building to be honest. Its main architectural feature can't really be seen from here, but despite it's dark top (lighter near the bottom), it did seem to fit in well with Lloyds. It looks so classy IMO

Don't care much for the 'egg'.

I'm pretty sure they're permanent features used for the window cleaning.
