I love the low rise residentials in the immediate vicinity. The Central Station development has to be one of the most tasteful going on anywhere. The expansion of the skyline southward is indeed, impressive. The fellas developing the con edison site here in New York should take notes.

Very nice. It's fascinating to see how Chicago handles a large (master planned?) urban residential development. I like how close the towers are together, it yields a very classic dense urban residential feel. Also, I like how all the towers don't look the same. There is a variety of styles and built forms, including honest-to-god row housing.

In Vancouver our mega developments tend to look very similar despite being parceled out to several architects. We've also got an 80 foot spacing requirement between towers. Here's an example of a Vancouver downtown development of a similar scale to Chicago's Central Station. The nine towers and mid rises in the foreground are part of the 75+ tower Concord Pacific Place residential development, currently North America's largest residential development. This photo was taken when the park was brand new and the foliage has since grown in rather well.

There aren't a lot of similarities, but this still kinda reminds me of CityPlace in Toronto. These towers are much more diverse, though. I like it!
