The small German town of Lüneburg

On my way back home from Hamburg I stopped in Lüneburg (population: 70.000) for 2 hours and took some pics.
Unfortunately today the sun was nowhere to be seen and it was pretty foggy.
Well, at least it didn' rain but of course every city looks nicer when the sun is shining.
Anyway here are the pics.

Edit: Images don't show up anymore, new pics post #13.

thnx for sharing! nice little place, dosent quite seem like it would even 70 000, but i suppose the amount of pedestrians on the streets and such, and the modern cars may hint towards a higher population.

btw 70,000 is hardly a small town

I cant believe such towns actually exist. There like frozen in time unlike Rome or Athens or istanbul and even prague which have historical gems smothered in sprawl. I love how this town is so historical looking and genuine.

I cant believe how much it looks like it could be England, apart from some architectural differences.

Since I started this thread I've been to Lüneburg twice.

These are from 2008:

The tower in the middle is the old water-tower.
