Some kick ass designs - espec that twin tower complex on them old rail yards, hope they turn into reality and not just a pipe-dream.

BTW, what does Suvarnabhumi translate to?
Suvarnabhumi is a Sansakrit word which means "Golden Land"

Suvarna = Gold
Bhumi = Land

But when it's used in Thai language, it's pronounced as "Su-Wan-Na-Poom".

It's the acient name that refer to the area of central Thailand + Cambodia + Lao + Part of Vietnam.

Suvarnabhumi is also the name of new Bangkok International airport which will be in operation next year. This name's given by HM the King Bhumibol.

FYI

Interesting! 'Golden Land' was how I read it, and was surprised

What is that round thing in the middle between the twin towers? I think the towers would look great without it.

Number 3 deserves superior accolades, but they all look good.

I like all of the proposals and renderings especially Makkasan Complex, it looks like some sacred sort of Monument.

Also the Port Authority looks pretty cool, that is if I am looking at the right tower.

The port authority thingies, are they going to look that way if ever built? Because the skyline is not that dense already and including another set of "quite alone" towers will be worse, theyre better if they would be placed in Bangkok's main city center, where all scrapers are locatd.

Why haven't we seen these proposals before? Very tall, I wonder how serious it is and if they are approved.

Yeah..they had been disclosured for quite sometime in Thaiforum but I were not sure about their future or how strong the possibilities of these projects.

But I consider that there are 3 of them now so I think it's worth to make this thread.

To add another high hope..
There is another project located at the so called "Suanlum Night Bazaar" waiting to be developed soon.
And this project has a lot of bidders most of them are top developer companies of Thailand.
And I had seen 2-3 of these proposals.
They are all "Supertall".

This is one of them called "Rising Bangkok" which had already been withdrawn.
The location is just exactly the same place of "Suanlum Night Bazaar" now.
