Its quite a bit of work and I know how time consuming it is. So thanks everyone for your posts, pics, comments, ideas, etc.

Afterall these thread belongs to each and everyone one of us.

No problemos

I've done some modifications and updates by myself as best as i could. However, your would help would be also appreciated as usual, so don't relax too much

Anyway, while browsing the previous thread, there were some new projects posted by Dadek - the projects of "smaller" importance that don't "deserve" place in our media, mostly because the city ain't involved in them. How silly is that? I wonder how much our list would expand if we manage to gather all possible projects of Zagreb

Myself, i doubt it. Only 2 works have skyscraper wich means it wasn't demanded in the competition.

i agree plus a new tower in the city is always a good thing right?
! but on the other hand they should be very careful with facade and overal design cuz its in a pretty sensitive part of city close to the centre (we dont want another ilica1 now do we)

Thanks Long Foot !

Thanks Long Foot for the photographic updates on a number of projects.

1) Grand Centre - Interesting that the building may become the EU headquarters in Croatia.

2) Centar Project is a great example of a new office building. I see your point in that the building does have quite a visual impact on the street. Although its not tall like Eurotower, it length more than make up for it and therefore it leaves quite a visual impression. I really like it.

3) Zagreb Tower is evolving. However it seems to me like its slowed down again in construction. Anyway, 10 more floors to go.

4) That new multi building complex in Rapska looks great. I had no idea it was so close to Eurotower. It will make for a great addition to this area.

5) Eurotower II is coming along. I knew they would commence once Eurotower I reached its full height. I think Eurotower II will be finished before mid 2006.

6) Renovations. That goodness more and more buildings in downtown Zagreb are finally getting renovated. Bubach will be very pleased.

Hvala puno i pozdrav.

Hey Spretni, dobro nam dosel na forum

One dvije zracne fotke Zagreba su fantasticne!!! Svaka cast

Imageshack.us je najbolje rjesenje.

Exactly Bubach. So many projects dont get a mention for various reasons because its impossible to devote resources to each and every one of them.

Another example is Long Foots report from the Zapadni Kolodvor district. I was amazed at how the area was transforming and also how many projects both residential and commercial were being built. These were 6-8 levels high.

Gwinczlav made a good point that the tower was only in a couple of the entries and I also thought this area is quite sensitive for a skyscraper similar as you pointed out about Ilica 1.

I was thinking that maybe they saw the skyscraper proposals and then realised that this component can help in the financing of the Congress Centre. To me the Congress Centre was a tad bit mediocre in design but then again the skyscraper proposal in the winning design was also rather "faceless" in appearance ...

They submitted a proposal near to central Zagreb railway station but they got knocked back as it would visually obstruct the view from the south towards Lenucci's horseshoe street grid of the downtown.

Its rumored to be very tall and anticipated at another location they have opposite Zagrebcanka Tower on the interesction of Vukovarska and Savska streets.

Welcome to the forums Spretin, I think it is going to be office tower with Governmental and city offices as well as few embassies and trade delegations. Most will move out of Intercontinental in to new tower, Sorry Westin, lol..

I think Canadian and Australian Embassies are looking for large location in Zagreb, new Zeeland plans to open embassy in Zagreb after all 57000 Croats live in New Zeeland or about 1.5% of NZ's population, and other countries like South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia are planning opening there embassies in Zagreb quite soon..

It got canned. The Zagreb City Council was dead set against the idea from the very start. The developer has since changed to large housing estates in Zagreb. He recently completed the vast Hotoville estate in outer Zagreb and is now working on two new housing estates on Croatia's coast.

The proposal was supposed to be 375 metres tall and located near the Sava River.

BTW, warm welcome to the forum.

Pozdrav

dam, that tower would have been crazy, but still, lots of good infastructure/construction developpement going on in zagreb, that one part about embassies opening up in zagreb is interesting, several east asian countries are mentioned there.

There is a strong potential for asian investments in croatia.(business AND tourism) i mention this in the croatian airport thread,http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...1&page=9&pp=20
More diversified investments also means less dependancy on EU and American business, which altho contributes a lot to the country(Austria for ex.), it can also screw up a lot(BETCHEL )

As well, the way Zagreb is moving, in a few years, it could become a much more competitive international Metropolis....
