i agree. the city looks nice but there isnt really much of a skyline. it does seem disappointing for being the third largest city in such a large country.

i voted a 6.

Good potential.. but needs more investment, redevelopement. Right now it is too flat to be Russia's third city. 5/10

I can't believe it! The first time I see Shafick posting more than just the city name!

The Central station looks gigantic.

Novosibirsk was founded in late XIX century as a train stop between Moscow and Vladivostok for the Transsiberian train, by the river Ob, and as capital for Siberia.

Anyway I can't see real potential in Novosibirsk. Siberian hard conditions of life are an issue for the Russian goverment, since it's extremely expensive maintain any infraestructure in such remote and cold area. I guess Ekaterinburg, a quite important industrial pole in the Urals, will surpass NS as third largest city in Russia.

Hi from Novosibirsk!
We have some new high-rises, most of them have 16-20 floors. Tallest completed building in our city have 23 floors, it's a Hotel Novosibirsk (1985). Six building with 20-24 floors are under construction.

You can find more information about development here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=299925.

Skyline pictures coming soon.
