simba32, regarding the HNL expansion, can you tell me why there are two floors of departure gate lounges? Is a set up for both domestic and international operations?

I believe that out of the 8 contact gates, 6 are located on the 2nd floor and the remaining 2 contact gates are on the 3rd floor. This is due to a lack of space in using only 1 floor for all 8 contact. Hence they are able to provide adequate floor space for 8 contact gates (and seating as well as other facilities) by using the two floors for departures.

The set up is only for international operations, as it it the "international terminal". (Haneda already has two very large domestic terminals.)

I hope this answers your question

New 8 gate wing in HND International Terminal

Took these 2 weeks ago, the wing had just opened that week.

Looking down the new 8 gate wing

New Pathway from existing terminal to 8 gate wing

Directional Map right before you enter gate area in the new wing

New casual style seating area in the pathway between existing terminal building and new wing

New Video wall in the pathway between existing terminal and new wing

Panoramic View Image facing into new food court

* - Looks like the wall right behind where I took this image is where the connector to the airside transit hotel would be; it was the only "uncompleted wall" blocked off
