Skyscrapers that have inspired other skyscrapers

Most skyscrapers of today are inspired by other skyscrapers like the Empire State Building for example. It's unique architecture is an inspiration for other buildings like The Banespa Building in Sao Paolo and The Central Plaza. Do you know other skyscrapers that have or are influenced?

Empire State Building (New York)

Banespa Building (Sao Paulo)

Central Plaza (Hong Kong)

The Bank of The Southwest Tower, which was cancelled in Houston in 1982, its "romantic modernist" design was a precursor to other Murphy/Jahn skyscrapers such as Park Avenue Tower (NYC):

One and Two Liberty Place (Philadelphia):

and The MesseTurm (Frankfurt):

The most famous and/or notorious, perhaps the most influential towers:

Lever House, New York:

&

Seagram Building, New York:

Remember those buildings when you see a skyscraper in the form of a glass box...

The Bank of China's headquarters in Beijing was built to resemble their building in Hong Kong. Their building in Wuxi is also similar.

Are not built yet, but I think the dubai towers from Turkey are an imitation of the Calatrava Towers of Valencia.

i would agree that seagram is most inspirational. i'm sure Libeskind's Freedom Tower will be inspirational for future architects too. ATand T building is insprirational too because somehow it appeared on 4 of the architecture books i read.

As a variation on a theme, the original design of the Wells Fargo Building by Cesar Pelli in Minneapolis was this:

The design as built in Minneapolis was changed but the original concept was later re-incarnated as the Key Tower in Cleveland:

hmm..
i think that if u take the arch shapes of this building:

and then u turn the arch shapes into triagles, you get this building:

not sure if there is any inspiration going on though.

A box is too generic to inspire another building, don't you think?

Capital Towers @ Brickell

Capital Towers at Brickell currently under construction in Miami, FL US was inspired by both the Empire State and Chrysler Building in New York City.
