American's new livery really sucks and it's sad because it's my favorite airline. The previous livery with chrome paint or even the current grey with cheatlines and AA would have been a good alternative. This new one looks ridiculous.

Delta's proposed route from Fort Lauderdale to Mexico City never really made much sense anyways so I am not surprised to see they canceled it.

Hawaiian Airlines To Launch Service To China
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3051565.html

Quote:
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaiian Airlines plans to start non-stop service from Honolulu to China beginning next year and will eliminate service to Manila over the summer.

The airline said Wednesday that the flights from Honolulu to Beijing are expected to start on April 16, 2014, pending U.S. and Chinese regulatory approval.

The new service is expected to run three times a week. This would be Hawaiian Airlines 10th new international destination since November 2010.

The new service is expected to produce $81 million in annual visitor spending and $8.47 million in tax revenue for Hawaii, according to the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

Hawaiian Airlines said it is discontinuing non-stop service to Manila due to underperformance. Chief Commercial Officer Peter Ingram said in a statement that high fuel prices and low fares hurt the route.

Flights to Manila, which began in April 2008, were running four times a week. The final flight from Honolulu to Manila will be on July 31.

The company said that its reservations department will make arrangements with other airlines serving Manila to accommodate passengers with flights scheduled to Manila after Aug. 1.

The more I see of it, the more I warm to it.

It really makes the old livery look terrible.

Here are some American Airlines stories I've seen of late...

AA to Start Operating A319 Aircraft from 16 September 2013

American Airlines will introduce its latest narrow-body aircraft, Airbus A319, and it will initially operate out of its Dallas hub. The aircraft will be progressively introduced to several domestic and international routes, including:

Effective 16 September 2013:
Dallas – Charlotte: 2 of 6 daily
Dallas – Cleveland: 2 of 3 daily
Dallas – Memphis: 2 of 4 daily (4 daily from 1 October 2013; 3 daily from 21 November 2013)
Dallas – Wichita: 2 of 5 daily (4 daily from 1 October 2013; 1 daily from 21 November 2013)

Effective 1 October 2013:
Dallas – Dayton: 1 of 3 daily (2 daily from 14 October 2013; 1 daily from 21 November 2013)
Dallas – Lubbock: 1 of 5 daily (until 18 November 2013 only)

Effective 14 October 2013:
Dallas – El Paso: 3 of 8 daily (1 daily from 21 November 2013)
Dallas – Huntsville: 2 of 3 daily (1 daily from 21 November 2013)
Dallas – McAllen: 1 of 5 daily (overall service will be 4 daily from 21 November 2013)
Dallas – Toronto: 3 daily (replacing B737-800)

Effective 1 November 2013:
Dallas – San Salvador: up to 5 weekly (replacing B737-800)

Effective 19 December 2013:
Dallas – Gunnison: 1 daily (replacing B757)
Dallas – Jackson Hole: 8 weekly
Dallas – Vail: 10 of 17 weekly

Reservations for Airbus A319 service will be made available on Sunday, 2 June 2013, however operational schedule has appeared in Amadeus’ timetable listing.

Planned Airbus A319 aircraft operation remains subject to change.

Comment: I sense that by introducing this aircraft, AA will be able to retire its oldest MD-80s (especially the MD-82 and MD-83) sooner, and it will provide more flexibility for the airline to comply with noise regulations

AA Plans London Service Hike from Winter 2013

The airline will ramp up services to London/Heathrow from Dallas and Miami effective 27 October 2013, as well as increasing capacity on all services (including streamlining aircraft type from B767/B777 mix to all B777s). Details and schedules:

Dallas/Ft. Worth – London Heathrow:
Winter service to operate 17 weekly, compared to 14 weekly in Winter 2012/13. All 17 weekly flights are scheduled to be operated by Boeing 777-200ER/-300ER, instead of Boeing 767-300ER/777-200ER mix.

AA080 DFW1655 – 0755+1LHR 777 456
AA050 DFW1830 – 0930+1LHR 77W D
AA078 DFW2020 – 1125+1LHR 777 D

AA051 LHR0945 – 1405DFW 77W D
AA081 LHR1205 – 1630DFW 777 567
AA079 LHR1325 – 1740DFW 777 D

Miami – London Heathrow:
Winter service will operate 14 weekly, compared to 10 weekly in Winter 2012/13. All services will be operated by Boeing 777-200ER, instead of Boeing 767/777 mix.

AA056 MIA1905 – 0840+1LHR 777 D
AA038 MIA2055 – 1030+1LHR 777 D

AA057 LHR1105 – 1600MIA 777 D
AA039 LHR1235 – 1735MIA 777 D

Reservations for the new flights are expected to open on Sunday, 2 June 2013, as operational schedule is now reflected in Amadeus’ timetable listing.

AA to Start Miami-Milan Flight from 21 November 2013

American Airlines will begin a daily nonstop Miami-Milan/Malpensa service on board B767-300ER aircraft (Milan departure from 22 November 2013). Schedule:

AA206 MIA1755 – 0935+1MXP 763 D
AA207 MXP1125 – 1640MIA 763 D

Reservation for this route is to open on Sunday, 2 June 2013, however operational schedule is now appearing in Amadeus.

I think Delta has the best livery of all the US-based carriers.

Hawaiian and Delta for sure. American's new livery will take some time to get use to. I am going to miss US Airway's livery.

I know this is kinda out of the topic. But just wanted to share this here. Disney's upcoming, action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure: Disney's Planes featuring American Airlines 777-300ER as Tripp
