It will be kind of sad to see them go, always makes things seem a little more impressive at MSP when they are around.
Although the last time they really looked correct was more along these lines:

In other news...

A group of United planes at IAH

it was gonna happen soon most of those aircraft they had were made in the late 80's early 90's so there well over 20 years old and i don't think they will be replaced with anything as good least United will have theirs for awhile

The current trend is to funnel passengers to East Coast hubs and fly them over from there with smaller equipment than from each individual hub since the load factors would be lower than one flight from JFK/EWR
United will be adding new service from EWR to NCL (Newcastle, UK) utilizing a 757. Based off of the photo within the link below, it appears to be the -300 series.

You might have noticed that I have expanded the title of this thread... it's because you can now add to your discussions and photo sharing list the following carriers:

- F9 - Frontier Airlines
- NK - Spirit Airlines
- SY - Sun Country
- VX - Virgin America

Horizon Air (QZ), a subsidiary of Alaska Airlines, as well as the myriad of regional carriers found throughout the US, are also now open for further discussion.

I hope that with the further expansion of the thread title, you can now discuss nearly all American carriers (through news and photos), as well as its future developments and long-term viability.

Spirit and Virgin America seem to both be making large moves in the domestic market as of late. Virgin using DAL as a new base could help them become a larger player, challenging Southwest in cross country markets before they have a stronghold on them transiting through DAL. Spirit will be launching a direct flight from SAN to ORD complementing its flights connecting in LAS between the two to capitalize on the leisure market into SAN.

Frontier has also made major moves along the East Coast. As an example, Cleveland and Washington-Dulles have a number of destinations commenced from both mentioned facilities.
