Saw some people onsite today. Noticed one of them was a girl. They were all young and wearing casual clothes. Maybe they lived nearby and were kicking a ball around.

was down at Central Square today and looked up to see this great view, or it will be next year when Aspect begins to rise!
should fill in this gap perfectly!

and looking south towards the Sydney Central
Aspect will be only a few metres shorter to spire/

fabian, my pic was from today!!! overcast? that wont stop workers.
there were heaps of guys around with plans and surveying!!! especially at lunchtime. when did ya think i took pic??? last week?

That shot was taken just before 1pm, and I saw noone around. I did see a man and in his car just outside along with several other vehicles.

I know overcast weather doesn't stop workers but as it appeared very threatening throughout the day and it had rained that night, it led to that assumption.

Also I thought the pic I saw was that of Tuesday's when I came to post the actual pic. I was tricked by that one

Ouwh! I just suffered vertigo when the pic downloaded.

Great shot. The older buildings have those older European-style inner gaps that act as multi-storey courtyards for light. Keep 'em and forget 89 Goulburn as there wouldn't be many of those left in Australia.

We can see a reasonably sized foundation hole for Aspect forming!! It's going to be a slender tower in a sea of quite hefty ones.

I was going to say the same as well. It's become a trend during this boom to unearth remains from the city's past on city construction sites or where some sort of major work has been done. Hopefully if there are remains they are made public. I'd be good to know what was there before.

I think most artefacts as part of European Settlement are offered to The Museum of Sydney. Things like ceramic pieces, ye olde bottles or parts of dolls. Anything of older origin would be on a case-by-case basis i.e. aboriginal pieces (or dinosaur bones

lol.)

A a general rule, while doing an excavation or digging foundations that if the developers hits something obviously of historical significance, in come the archaeological consultants.

i knew it! i saw some foundation type brickwork carefully manicured to the north of the site a few weeks ago. damn it, its only a friggen foundation of an old terrace. take photos, dismantle and get it the hell out of there!!! i wana see some excavations!!! please no more archaeological consultants! lol
