My 2 faves are 2IFC and HSBC, but I think the most symbolic would be the Bank of China Tower.

Bank Of China to me is the most symbolic for HK despite not being as tall as the Central Plaza or the 2IFC. The 2IFC is perfect as HK's tallest tower.

Before The BoC, Jardine House was the most symbolic with it's round windows. I remembered an old Spiderman film where you see Spidey climb up the Jardine House

For me, BoC was the most symboic, but now the 'NEW' HK(after 97') needs a new landmark, and 2 IFC seems to suit it.

Most likely the International Commerce Centre will be HK's future skyscraper landmark or will be tied with 2 IFC as both symbolized HK's gateway supertalls.

But I still think The BoC is the most symbolic even after '97 since the tower represent's HK and it's culture.

The Centre because even though it's so tall and beautiful, it gets no love and recognition because it gets dwarfed by 2IFC and Central Plaza and is out-classed by BoCHK. The shape and the base is stunning and I like how it tops off with the spire, it's also very beautifully lit at night.

My other HKG fav's not on the poll are Highcliff, Langham Place Office Tower, Four Seasons, May House, and Manulife Tower. But Nina Tower will become my new favorite when it gets complete.

The Bank of China Tower, now and forever. There's just no question or comparison for me on that, I assure you.

Bank of China is most iconic, but my personal favourite is 2IFC.

But the true skyscrapers that represent HK my mind are less flashy scrapers.. buildings like Tregunter 3

True about that or any highrise residential flat Actually these flats have been a model for other high-rise flats such as in Guangzhou or Manila.

Tregunter 3

HK influenced high-rise flats in Guangzhou

Totally agree.

In fact, I would go as far as saying it has the best lighting of any skyscraper in the world.

The first skyscraper i think of when hearing 'Hong Kong' is the Bank Of China. A true masterpiece.

Hard one. Either the BOC or 2IFC.

The Centre has some impressive lighting but there's a skyscraper in Miami that has that effect and was actually one of the first ones to have it.

But before the 2IFC, Bank Of China and even the Hopewell Centre, there was The Jardine House. Completed in 1973, this was the tallest and most symbolic building in HK and was the tallest in Asia upon completion. The top floors house the offices of the Jardine Clan.

Jardine House during the Symphoney Of Lights

Hong Kong in 1976 back when The Jardine House was the tallest building in the city. The city is so vibrant at night even back in the days when they had no symphony of lights
