guys, does skyscraper constuction in USA or Dubai ect have a "shutdown" period over xmas? Here in Australia our sites virtually close for a month over xmas break. I normally do a first of month update but for aussie projects i do xmas shutdown then feb 1.

For supertalls especially, I don't think so. Time is money. When you're competing with other cities and buildings for resources and equipment you can't afford to keep equipment and such that has become very expensive just sitting idle so the workers can have a one month holiday

I know for Canada at least and maybe the northern U.S. that construction doesn't stop but slows down. If weather is too cold, then workers are allowed to go home. So a total shut-down for a month in the winter would be impractible.

the 445m doha tower has also started work on the basements
i think this one is missing, a 400m+ deserves to be there!
DL- is there a thread on the Doha tower?
