How can you tell?

Anyways, maybe the cranes are perched on top of the completed part of the building.

The cranes clamp inside the lift shafts. They have a jacking mechanism and so can climb up the shaft as it is built. One set of clamps grip the shaft while the hydraulics raise the crane then another set of clamps is activated and the first lot can be pulled up. Once the lift shaft is tall enough to fit the whole crane, no more steel is needed - the crane doesn't extend down to the ground.

way down on lev24 approx 110m high. it starts to taper in, so its well into that phase now.you can already tell by some of the recent photos.
the tapered sides start to look noticable at about 200m high when they become about 10m wide.
