Well, if DubaiBoy hadn't gotten banned we'd still be on post 400 or something in part 9

The thing with the BD threads is there are about 15 pages of 'nice update' or 'Is that the core' or 'how tall is this thing going to be.'

So how tall is thing gonna be?

Actually yeah, it does get a bit tiring having to sift through all those kind of posts.
Maybe the mods could smack down some serious penalties for anyone making useless posts...? Just a thought.

I'm expecting to see a setback on "one" of the 3 prongs quite soon (within the next 3-6 floors?). Looking at the renders the setbacks will spiral round (anticlockwise i think), one every 10 floors or so. The lowest setbacks that will eat into the concrete structure (we're seeing being built) occurs on one of the 3 arms around the 15th floor (I think the wings are on about floor 9 given that the first few may be below ground). Then it seems to increase by about 10 floors each time after that (judging by recent renders).
ie. setback on floors... 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, 72 ... 182.
and each wing would therefore setback like this:
12, 42, 72, 102,
22, 52, 82, 112,
32, 62, 92, 122, etc.

... would be about right me thinks - which gives 5-6 setbacks for each of the 3 prongs - which seems to match the recent renders.

Wonder which one will be setback first... keep an eye out for a setback on one of the prongs... and photographers try and get photos from 2 sides so we can keep a look out for the first set-back!

It might even help us work out the height

Would be cool if they miscounted and forgot to do a setback - and thus had to (for aesthetics) make it even taller

Wooow, It has gone really fast. Yesterday morning it was still at 400 posts.

I agree there are alot of "bullshit" pages in BJ threads. Anyway reactions fot a update aren't that stupid. If you're making a construction update it's always nice to get some good replies.

For myself I always take a look, but the only time I reply is when there's a update or news... or a new BJ topic

When the Dubai mall opens up in Dec 2006 , exactly a year from now , the burj dubai might be almost 80-90 floors high , and you will find no shortage of pictures of the burj dubai taken by tourists and residents alike from the dubai mall next door

So in other words , exciting stuff wont only take place when the tower is completed late 2008
