I always said it, it's great, huge and gonna be tall.

I've been waiting for these moments, that the burj will reach the 20th floor.

Great!

Maybe it is because people have been complaning a lot about the Burj Dubai threads being to full of "nice", "huge", "cool update" etc, making it hard to search and look through.

Dubais seems a "Sim City" city
they are rising new neighboborughs at same tieme and very very fast. Even in China is not possible to find that level of developement. i

Dubai's boom has nothing to do with oil. I've repeated myself for like 10 times now.

Not entirely true, the discovery of oil was the trigger event. Without that most of this would not have become possible. But you are correct, driving force of all this development is trade and tourism and has been for many years.

of course the trigger event was oil, but what was the trigger even for the whole of the US? exactly...

dubai's current boom has nothing to do with oil.

you have to know the road conditions are not the best on this construction site and i din't tell you yet, i've ruined another tire this week!
i just bought 4 new tires, fortunately tires are very cheap in dubai.
it's the 5th tire already this year, 3 times nails from construction sites and 2 times offroad in oman (where i was lucky to pick up a 30cm long and 3cm wide steel bar in the mountains (you can imagine what the tire looked like)

and i don't want to ruin my car for a stupid photo

smussuw's pics have been taken from al khail road

i told you from this road you can see much more because it's close to this end of the complex
maybe this is why smussuw drove there???

anyway, i'm not driving this road too often

once i get the landcruiser i'll try to get deeper into the site

Keep taking photos from your secret areas D-LVR. When this thing gets 300m, then everybody will be sending crappy photos. Yours have been the best quality (and the best close-ups), so far.

When the ground starts to develop. we will see less and less of the ground levels as bare as they are now.

The Burj Dubai and your photos is what drew me to this board a year ago, as an observer. I used to visit only for this building and other 400+m towers, but your photos of other dubai constructions and towers have turned into my screensaver.

Thanks again. I would donate $10 for a tire if I could so you can get these great shots of a legend being born, so your photos are a big part of its infancy.

Keep up the good work DL. You, and only a couple others, are THE ONLY ONES sending high quality shots of this beast.

I've noticed others here are just talk and want to be somebody they're not.

By the way, how are you going to get shots when it gets over 400m?

Rent-A-Blimp?
