Count the number of sub buildings(if you want to call it that) in the base of the renders of BD you will see there are 9 of those with the point nose colounms... In the construction pics you see 7 of them with the nose coloumns see what they mean?

^ And Malec already explained that 2 of them aren't build yet, or better saying, are still on the ground floor level.

Also don't forget that the first few floors will extend out quite a lot from what it is now. What you see here in the U/C pics is the width of the tower at starting at the 6th floor or so (including the nose colums on the 1st floor).

Could you post a pic of the render and then of construction and tell us what exactly it is you mean?

Too thin compared to what ? its height ?

Well i guess if engineers used ancient methods of constructing super talls , the burj Dubai would have a base of 9 km by 10 km technology and major advances in engineering enabled them to design such a building as the BD to be as tall as 1 km but still sustian an acceptable foundation area

i now see hat you mean. but i dont think that the boxes we see in current U/C images equate to the setback towers. they might, but there is no way to be sure.

Any reason to back up your opinion? Give us some reasons why you think that so we can discuss it. Hope you know Adrian Smith is one of the world's leading architects.

Malec are you equating the 1 and 9 to the side towers of the BD that go up to about say around 26 and 36 floors??<<<< Because the Pointy base nose only go upto about 3 floors.

Oooppssss Sorry I see it now buddy, diddn't scroll down to see the render,

By the way that Render you showed the towers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 , Is that the one slated at or above 900 meters??

Yes because otherwise, the tower would have reached setbacks by now.
I also think that the first few floors that are a lot wider than the rest will extend beyond the base.
BTW Could you draw a diagram and tell me what you think?

Well no I agree with you, I see exactly what you mean, Another month and as the 2 and 8 go past the heights of the 1 9 it will be made obvious.

But what i meant with regards to the renders is there is one render of BD out there that truly appears above 900m its massive its on the thread # 9 and I counted the base and there also appears to be 1-9 in that render. So we may be in for a 900m beast after all.
