Great stuff once again!!!

Looks weird now but should look great once the whole complex is done. Also once business bay and the other talls on SZR are built it will rock even more.

If anyone can show where the other buildings along SZR go in this pic I can add them. It would also be cool to have the 666m one and Al Burj assuming they are in this viewpoint.

nice render larven

i hope i will be able to see it rising between and above the current skyline from our apartment in the 27th storey before i leave dubai in mid february
the burj dubai is roughly 8km away from my home

i should be able to see it soon in between capital towers and the fairmont hotel

could somebody photoshop that?

You'd actually be able to see the park square one in the back, too bad we've no render. Al burj is in a completely different place.

I'll point out some more towers though. Just give me a few minutes.

maybe this will clear things up a little bit
a few explanations from top to bottom:

palm deira = bigger than manhattan, construction has just begun

skyline in deira = this is the slyline along the creek with about 30 high-rises and a few more coming up, can be described as the heart of dubai

park square = a new project launched recently next to a brand new recreation park, which has not yet opened but is awesome!!!
this is where the 666m park square tower will rise. park square has 40 to 50 high-rise plots

new dwtc = a project launched 3 days ago, a brand new wtc with 40 high-rises

dubai international financial centre = the name says it all, 50 high-rises if not more

burj dubai downtown - you know what it is, about 100 high-rises +

business bay = a mammoth project with more than 250 towers and thousands of villas built around an extended creek which is coming from the right side of the pic and will be extended back to the sea. currently the creek is running alone this deira skyline which you can see in the background. it ends about 10km in the continent and will now be expanded all the way back into business bay and straight back to the sea

the highway which is running through the skyline is called sheikh zayed road
there still are many unoccupied plots and many plots already under c right next to the highway
these are independent towers which have nothing to do with any of these major projects
this makes another 70 towers to be added

what you can't see in this pic:
dubai festival city = which is built right next to the deira skyline, another 50 towers or so with a 320m four seasons hotel launched today

dubai land = biggest project on earth, leisure park with residences, offices, hotels, parks, race tracks,... several hundred towers coming up here, close to 1000 actually

palm jumeirah = everybody knows the first palm, will have a few nice high-rises

palm jebel ali = hundred high-rises + incl a CBD

dubai waterfront = built around palm jebel ali, several hundred towers incl al burj, projected to be taller than burj dubai

jebel ali airport city = new airport with cbds for the industry, 850 towers

dubai marina = brand new district around a man made lake connected to the sea on both ends. 200 high-rises +

jumeirah lake towers = opposite dubai marina, also a high-rise cluster of 80 high-rises + built around a lake
dubai marina and jumeirah lake towers are divided by sheikh zayed road, the same road which divides the current skyline in the above pic

dubai media city = project built for multimedia industry, 300 towers or even more

silicon oasis, biotech park, media & production zone = projects built for high-tech industry also have a few hundred high-rises

i stop it here

now do the maths

Shit, hope it's not too late for my version

Shows the location of some of the towers:

If you want the renders then search through my boom thread. Look through the SZR section and all the renders should be there.

Are they going to work on making Dubai GREENER after the construction of these buildings are complete?

It has the potential to be a world-class city.

correct.
the projects finished are already quite green, for example parts of jumeirah islands, emirates living etc.

all the roundabouts/interchanges are green as well. looks stunning.

nice render larven and quite a good explanation dennis

In februari or march I'll defenitly go to Dubai, with my brother 1 or 2 days. Just for fun, I'll take some contrcution updates too

It seems like Business Bay is not as big as I thought.
