WOW! Great news for paris. I hope the design will be as beautiful as the tour sans fins, but Im sure it will be considering this is paris we are talking about and parisians have too much taste to stand for CW-type junk....

Your arrogance and ignorance here is just suffocating, it really is. You really do believe Paris is paved with gold and that it is the most perfect city where everything is beautiful and better than everything else in the world. As we've seen from the recent riots in Paris, it isnt all strawberries and cream, seems people arnt too happy with the way ure country is being run.

Now I would never dream of saying London is perfect, cus it has its problems like any other city, but to say CW is 'junk' is just deluded ignorance personified. It has some of the most aethetically pleasing buildings I've ever seen. Its brilliance lies in its simplicity and structure; I mean, 1 Canada Sq may be box shaped, but when you look at it, its a great testament to skyscrapers, so dominating and crystalic (not sure if thats a word )

Canary Wharf is going for the New York style skyscrapers, but with more syle and design, which looks really impressive in a cluster; whereas the City area is going for uniquely shaped skyscrapers that are original in design, and by 2012, both skylines will seriously outshine just about all others in Europe.

Well, Nukey's British isn't he? But even if he was French, couldn't he be allowed to criticize CW without being defined arrogant?

Today's newspapers relieved the information (french people not interested in urban development still didn't know). 850,000 sq. m. of office space will be built as well as the highest scraper in Europe. The RER E will be extended to La Défense, as the A line is overcrowded.

I haven't seen such political voluntarism for a long time here

It is about time that France gets another supertall, not just the Eiffel Tower!
I remeber Tour San Fins, I thought it was a very serious project.

lol, no the supertall will be 150,000 mē but on the whole nearly 1 million mē will be built (other new towers).
So 150,000 mē for 400 m = a thin tower expected, unless there is a big spire. This we don't know yet.

Hey, it may not even be built. Anyway: (post by London)
'By 2016 London will need an additional 100,000,000 square feet of office space. On an annual average thats 9 million square feet (thats 9 minerva buildings for the city!). As we know, buildings like Bishopsgate tower and Heron hold considerably less than a million sq ft which is why its important that these projects get off the ground. Its obviously evident that we will expect a greater number of proposals in the not so distant future.

From the ambitious actions from British Land, we can see that they a preparing for the significant upturn in the markets from the construction of Willis and Broadgate. Their innovative 122 leadenhall building, which, has captured a wide interest from capable tenants already is obviously the peak of their personal business achievement forecast!

The high and mid-rise delevelopments that we know about today come nowhere near supplying a years worth of tenants.

All im going to say now is, this is just 2005. Red Ken only introduced the 'London developent plan' in mid 2004 (a plan to create a skyline of tall office building in the city to achieve economic growth - one of Ken's policies). Now, plans for skyscrapers that we dont even know exist are being drawn up as we speak. We know it takes years upon years to create a skyscraper. So expect a flood of new proposals in 2007 from companies from around the world who want to make a prensence in London through the success of the Olympics.'

That is more than 9,000,000 square meters we need by by 2016. We are gonna need a good few 400m+ towers over here

So before you start my friend, dont think this 1 scheme in La Defense will compare with whats going on here

(I was just replying to his thread by the way, im not trying to be a bastard)

So this is a Government funded project? Am I reading this correctly?

Tour sans fin was a beautiful design. Something like that would be awesome.
